Os Cadernos Portugueses começam com um fascículo dedicado ao Alentejo. Cinco autores partem do mesmo território e constroem cinco trabalhos independentes. O resultado não pretende explicar o Alentejo nem fixar o território numa ideia única. Procura observar diferentes realidades e perceber o que está a acontecer num lugar onde muitas questões do país se tornam particularmente visíveis.
A relação com a terra, a propriedade e o trabalho rural acompanha a transformação da agricultura e da paisagem. A água alterou escalas, usos e expectativas. A baixa densidade e a distância continuam a marcar formas de viver e de partir. A fronteira é simultaneamente limite e passagem. A memória e a transmissão cultural convivem com mudanças profundas nas comunidades. E a própria paisagem surge cada vez mais como bem económico, disponível para compra, investimento e transformação.

Cadernos Portugueses begins with a fascicle dedicated to the Alentejo region. Five authors start from the same territory and create five independent works. The result does not aim to explain the Alentejo nor fix the territory in a single idea. It seeks to observe different realities and understand what is happening in a place where many of the country's issues become particularly visible.
The relationship with the land, property, and rural work accompanies the transformation of agriculture and the landscape. Water has changed scales, uses, and expectations. Low density and distance continue to mark ways of living and leaving. The border is simultaneously a limit and a passage. Memory and cultural transmission coexist with profound changes in communities. And the landscape itself increasingly emerges as an economic asset, available for purchase, investment, and transformation.

Os Cadernos Portugueses são um projecto colectivo da NARRATIVA dedicado à observação do Portugal contemporâneo através da fotografia. Um exercício continuado de leitura do território, das suas transformações e das realidades sociais, políticas e culturais que o definem.
Com um horizonte de desenvolvimento até 2030, o projecto organiza-se em volumes territoriais, cada um dedicado a uma região de Portugal. Em cada edição, vários autores desenvolvem investigações visuais autónomas a partir de uma geografia comum, partindo das suas próprias questões, interesses e metodologias. A reunião destes trabalhos constitui uma obra colectiva, na qual diferentes abordagens fotográficas contribuem para uma leitura plural de um mesmo território.
Cada volume constitui uma publicação independente e, simultaneamente, parte de um arquivo visual em crescimento. A fotografia é, neste projecto, uma forma de descoberta, um espaço de reflexão e um instrumento de construção de memória.

Cadernos Portugueses is a collective project by NARRATIVA dedicated to observing contemporary Portugal through photography. It's an ongoing exercise in interpreting the territory, its transformations, and the social, political, and cultural realities that define it.
With a development horizon until 2030, the project is organized into territorial volumes, each dedicated to a region of Portugal. In each edition, several authors develop autonomous visual investigations based on a common geography, starting from their own questions, interests, and methodologies. The gathering of these works constitutes a collective work, in which different photographic approaches contribute to a plural reading of the same territory.
Each volume is an independent publication and, simultaneously, part of a growing visual archive. Photography is, in this project, a form of discovery, a space for reflection, and an instrument for constructing memory.
