Masterclass NARRATIVA 2025/2026
The editing process of the projects developed in the NARRATIVA Masterclass 2025/2026 take place on February 7.
Each year, the Masterclass brings together a working group dedicated to the development of photographic projects, aimed at those who seek to communicate through photographic narrative, regardless of experience or professional background.
The Masterclass NARRATIVA runs from October to February, with weekly mentoring sessions, and presents its outcomes in a collective exhibition. It is led by photographer and founder of NARRATIVA, Mário Cruz, two-time winner of the World Press Photo Award and the Portuguese Society of Authors Award.
Authors selected for the 7th edition of the Masterclass NARRATIVA: Catarina Cesário Jesus, Cátia Valente, Denis Graeff, Fernando Pimenta, João Pedro Almeida and Raquel Antunes.

Fujifilm Workshop: Introduction to Photography
In February, the most popular workshop in our training programme returns to NARRATIVA.
The Fujifilm Workshop: Introduction to Photography is aimed at beginners in photography and seeks to provide a solid foundation in photographic technique, composition and authorial development.
The workshop will be led by Rui Costa, winner of the FNAC New Talents Award and instructor at the Portuguese Institute of Photography, with the support of Filipa Leite Rosa and Francisco Romão Pereira.
Schedule:
• February: 11, 18 and 25 (7pm–9pm)
• March: 4 (7pm–9pm) and 14 (5pm–7pm)
Participants attend the workshop with their own photographic equipment (digital camera with manual controls).
The workshop costs €50 and is limited to ten participants.

Fujifilm Workshop: Street Photography with Rodrigo Vargas
The Fujifilm Workshop: Street Photography is aimed at those seeking direct engagement with photography in an urban context, guided by photographer Rodrigo Vargas, winner of the Photography and Territory Award 2025 and an awardee of the FNAC New Talents Award.
Programme:
10am – 12pm | Theoretical session at NARRATIVA
2pm – 4pm | Walking route through Lisbon
6pm – 8pm | Discussion of the developed work
Participants attend the workshop with their own photographic equipment. Fujifilm equipment will be available for Touch & Try.
The workshop costs €20 and is limited to 10 participants.

NARRATIVA – FUJIFILM Award Talk with Katya Bogacheskaya and José Pedro Sousa
Katya Bogacheskaya and José Pedro Sousa, recipients of the 1st edition of the NARRATIVA – FUJIFILM Award, present their awarded projects in a session open to the public.
The 1st edition of the NARRATIVA – FUJIFILM Award received 151 applications from authors residing in Portugal. This new award, dedicated to contemporary photography, aims to recognise unpublished projects by emerging or established authors aged 18 or over.
The jury, composed of Emma Hardy, Augusto Brázio and Mário Cruz, unanimously awarded the prize to Nuno Andrade for the project PicNic, and granted honourable mentions to José Pedro Sousa (Olá mais tarde) and Katya Bogachevskaia (Pele do Mundo). The selected works highlight different perspectives, encompassing social essay, documentary photography and authorial exploration.

NARRATIVA at the Fujifilm X/GFX Tour
As part of the Fujifilm X/GFX Tour 2026 initiative, which aims to promote a day dedicated to photography in different district capitals across Portugal, NARRATIVA will take part through talks, a pop-up library and portfolio reviews.

Exhibition visit with Nuno Andrade – Winner of the NARRATIVA – FUJIFILM Award
PicNic, by Nuno Andrade, presents the winning work of the NARRATIVA – FUJIFILM Award and transforms a peripheral and seemingly marginal territory into a space of revelation and belonging. At Ponta dos Corvos, between the estuary and the city, the author finds a point of symbolic convergence where gestures of freedom, coexistence and collective celebration are reflected.
The guided tour with the author takes place on the final day of the exhibition.
