DECEMBER
December 6 | 11 am | Alvalade Market
Opening of the exhibition TERRITÓRIO
TERRITÓRIO exhibition stems from the collection created over the various editions of Masterclass NARRATIVA and proposes a journey through the multiple ways of observing the portuguese territory.
Bringing together different authors and geographies, the exhibition articulates documentary, social, cultural and authorial perspectives, composing a plural portrait of the country and its transformations.
The images presented are integrated into broader projects developed throughout the Masterclass's training process. Each photograph on display functions as a fragment of a larger narrative, offering glimpses into deeper investigations of the territory and revealing the uniqueness of each approach.
Thus, TERRITÓRIO presents fragments that, together, construct a complex, plural visual map open to interpretation.
Installed in the market of the Alvalade neighbourhood, where NARRATIVA is based, the exhibition also presents itself as a community gesture. By occupying a space of everyday encounter, TERRITÓRIO brings photography closer to the real life that inspires it, reinforcing the dialogue between artistic creation, local memory, and belonging.
In this place of coexistence, the images return to the public with the possibility of recognition — or of discovery — of the spaces we inhabit.

December 18th | 3 pm | Júlio de Matos Hospital
Opening of the exhibition JÚLIO - Photography at Júlio de Matos Hospital
NARRATIVA, in partnership with Júlio de Matos Hospital, carried out an artistic and educational project that included the participation of six hospital patients.
Under the guidance of photographers Bárbara Monteiro and Mário Cruz, photography was explored as a means of expression and observation, opening space for dialogue between personal experience and artistic creation.
Between September and December 2025, participants immersed themselves in a journey that articulated photographic practice and authorial research.
Each one created a personal work based on their direct relationship with the hospital space — its people, the architecture, the gestures of daily life, the places of silence and of encounter. The resulting works reveal unique perspectives on the same territory, exposing both the physical and the emotional and symbolic dimensions of this context.
The exhibition proposes a pluralistic reading of the Júlio de Matos Hospital, where photography asserts itself as a tool for sharing and connection.
Authors: Rúben Cruz, Carlos Vargas, Paula Mata, Bruno Oliveira, Sara Esteves and Ricardo Carvalho
The exhibition is on display in the main lobby of the Júlio de Matos Hospital, at Av. do Brasil, 53, in Lisbon.
