JÚLIO Project
NARRATIVA, in partnership with Júlio de Matos Hospital, is launching a new artistic and educational project involving six hospital patients.
Until December, photography will be explored as a means of expression and observation, opening space for dialogue between personal experience and artistic creation.
The project culminates in a collective exhibition and a pluralistic reading of Júlio de Matos Hospital, where photography asserts itself as a tool for sharing and connection.

Fujifilm Workshop: Initiation
The Fujifilm Workshop: Initiation is aimed at beginners in photography and aims to provide a solid foundation in photographic technique, composition, and authorial development.
The workshop is led by photographer Rui Costa, winner of the FNAC New Talents Award and instructor at the Portuguese Institute of Photography.

As part of the Fujifilm X/GFX Tour 2026 initiative, which aims to promote a day dedicated to photography in different district capitals of Portugal, NARRATIVA is participating through lectures and a pop-up library..

NARRATIVA at School
As part of the NARRATIVA at School – Visual Literacy Plan, we are starting a new school year with a Photographic Reading Workshop, developed from the NARRATIVA Library.
In this session, participants will engage with works by different authors, from which they will be invited to observe, interpret, and develop a critical analysis through writing.
The workshop proposes a thoughtful engagement with photography as a language, stimulating the ability to observe, question, and construct different interpretations from images.

NARRATIVA Masterclass 26/27
The 8th edition of the NARRATIVA MASTERCLASS begins with a working group dedicated to the development of photographic projects.
Aimed at anyone seeking to communicate through photographic narrative, the NARRATIVA Masterclass has revealed emerging authors whose projects have already received more than 20 national and international awards.
The training takes place between October and February, with weekly sessions for monitoring and developing the projects.
The works developed throughout the Masterclass will be presented in a collective exhibition.

FNAC 2026 Award Conversation
NARRATIVA, in partnership with the FNAC New Talents Award, presents a conversation with the winners of the Photography category of the 2026 edition: Lucía Alonso Garrido, Bárbara Monteiro, and João Cruz.
The conversation will be an opportunity to learn about the projects distinguished in this edition, but also to follow the paths and work processes of the three authors, their approaches to photography, and the issues that permeate their projects.
A meeting dedicated to new photography in Portugal and the different perspectives and practices that have marked the work of these three authors.

Walk&Shoot Fujifilm: Rodrigo Vargas
NARRATIVA and Fujifilm are promoting a photography session in Lisbon with photographer Rodrigo Vargas, inviting participants to explore the city through photography and experiment with the Fujifilm GFX100RF, a medium format camera. Throughout the session, Rodrigo Vargas will share his experience in the context of street photography, accompanying participants on a tour of Lisbon.

Open Workshop: Passport, Photography and Collage
Based on Keisha Scarville's exhibition Passports, NARRATIVA invites you to a workshop open to all ages with the aim of reinterpreting each participant's passport-sized photograph through drawing, writing and collage.
Bring your passport photo; NARRATIVA will provide the various materials for the workshop. Inspiration can be found on the gallery walls.
