Book launch: The Space Between Silence, by Guillermo Vidal

Photographer Guillermo Vidal, a member of NARRATIVA, presents his first photography book, The Space Between Silence.

This limited-edition publication is the result of a 10-month journey through Sri Lanka, India, Laos, and Nepal, where he developed a body of work centered on serenity, ritual, and transformation.

Throughout this journey, the photographer was confronted with forms of spiritual devotion deeply rooted in everyday life, as well as with concepts such as reincarnation, transcendence, and impermanence – dimensions present in practices linked to Buddhism and Hinduism.

Moving between landscapes, bodies, and vestiges of belief, The Space Between Silence is constructed as an intimate and contemplative visual reflection on the silent cycles of life, death, and return.

In 2026, Guillermo Vidal was nominated for the FUTURES Photography Platform by the Porto Photography Biennial.

Free admission.

Documentary Screening: A Photographic Memory, by Rachel Elizabeth Seed

Winner of the Truer Than Fiction Award (Film Independent Spirit Awards) and chosen by critics of The New York Times, A Photographic Memory is an intimate and hybrid portrait of the director's pioneering mother, Sheila Turner Seed – a vibrant and innovative journalist, photographer, and filmmaker who died suddenly and tragically when Rachel was only 18 months old.

Upon discovering the vast archive Turner Seed produced, including lost interviews with iconic photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Bruce Davidson, Cecil Beaton, Lisette Model, and Gordon Parks, the director attempts to build a posthumous relationship with her mother through her interviews, photographs, diaries, films, and the memories of those who knew her.

The result is an unlikely conversation between mother and daughter that transcends time and space, exploring universal themes such as memory, loss, and legacy.

The projection will take place outdoors at the Teixeira de Pascoais elementary school, in front of NARRATIVA.
