Workshop NARRATIVA & SJP Residency

NARRATIVA, in partnership with Residência Santa Joana Princesa, develops a workshop with six elderly residents of RSJP, in which photography is used as a form of expression and communication.

The objective is to allow residents to construct visual narratives that document their daily lives, whether inside the residence or outside, while visiting the parish where both spaces are located.

The final result is presented in December, in the format of a booklet produced by NARRATIVA.

NARRATIVA and Fujifilm Portugal are holding a workshop with young people living in Casal da Boba neighborhood, with the aim of creating a visual narrative that reflects their vision of this neighborhood located in Amadora.

The workshop begins with a theoretical component on photography as a form of communication and expression, followed by a practical component in which each participant is accompanied by a member of NARRATIVA.

The results are shared through the collage of photographs throughout the neighborhood, which was created to support families living in situations of great vulnerability and poverty in other parts of the municipality.

5-15 Workshops

NARRATIVA at school

NARRATIVA develops a workshop with 70 students from Escola Teixeira de Pascoais, in Alvalade.

This initiative aims to promote communication through instant photography - INSTAX, based on primary colors in the construction of visual narratives.

Each class works with one of the colors as a starting point to create imagery relationships, requiring careful observation of the different spaces in the school.

The workshop is based on books by Alex Webb and Harry Gruyaert, with the NARRATIVA library being an essential tool for the development of this project.

The students are accompanied by the director of NARRATIVA, Mário Cruz, throughout the construction of their work.

The work developed is presented on the last school day of the current academic year.
