Casal da Boba
NARRATIVA and Fujifilm Portugal developed a photography workshop with young residents of Casal da Boba neighborhood, in Amadora, with the aim of building a visual narrative that reflected their vision of the territory they inhabit.
The workshop began with a theoretical component on photography as a form of communication and expression, followed by a practical component, in which each participant was accompanied by a member of NARRATIVA.
The workshop's ultimate goal was to share photographs with the community through collages of the work carried out on the streets of this neighborhood, which was built to resettle families living in vulnerable situations in other parts of the city and sell housing at controlled prices.
The work carried out highlighted the unique vision of each of the participants, revealing, through the images produced, the existence of a true community that found a way to express itself through photography.
But the workshop's reach went beyond the six participants, with a significant portion of the neighborhood's community expressing interest in knowing what was happening and several teenagers and young adults ending up participating in the final phase of the workshop.
The result achieved allowed us to create a historical visual memory of this territory on the outskirts of Lisbon, something that was possible thanks to the invaluable help of the Cavaleiros de São Brás Association, whom we thank for welcoming and supporting us.
